Ms. Weiselberg has worked for over 20 years to improve the health and health care of medically underserved populations. Prior to joining HMA, she worked for the State of Wisconsin's Department of Public Instruction promoting a comprehensive school health program with emphasis on HIV/AIDS prevention. She directed a federally-funded Area Health Education Center (AHEC) focusing on expanding access to quality primary health care in underserved neighborhoods in New York City. She also was engaged in a long-term consultancy with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to participate in the early design and implementation of the New York City Childhood Asthma Initiative. For more than 6 years, Ms. Weiselberg worked in association with the Cook County Bureau of Health Services to develop and implement learning collaboratives to improve chronic disease care in underserved neighborhoods in Chicago/Cook County. Just prior to joining HMA, she managed a National Center for the Reduction of Asthma Disparities in Chicago. At HMA, Ms. Weiselberg’s work focuses on developing public health initiatives, improving health care delivery systems for the underserved, and improving health system operations with emphasis on disease management. Ms. Weiselberg holds a BS from Cornell University and an MPH from the University of Michigan.
