Mr. Zbanek is a senior project advisor with Health Management Associates bringing over twenty five years of experience in the managed care and health insurance industry to our clients.

Mr. Zbanek is a recognized expert in the area of managed care strategic planning, organizational development and is widely regarded as an innovator in the field of indemnity and self funded employee health care benefits.

Mr. Zbanek is presently assisting clients with managed care strategic and tactical planning; feasibility studies for the introduction of new or expanded health care services; design, development and implementation of comprehensive capitation program; development and implementation of direct contracting initiatives between health providers and purchasers; and capitated/risk sharing contract negotiations. In addition, he has successfully assisted numerous and varied health care purchasers, payers, providers and coalitions in the design, development and implementation of innovated, quality and cost effective health care benefit programs.

Prior to joining HMA, Mr. Zbanek served as the chief executive officer of a major health maintenance organization (HMO), Senior executive of a Medicaid HMO, executive director / chief operating officer of a multi-state provider sponsored HMO and insurance company; and vice president-consulting for a regional third party administrator (TPA) and insurance organization. He has also held senior management positions with responsibility for marketing, product design and evaluation, provider network development, and capitation / risk sharing contracting.

Mr. Zbanek is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), a Licensed Insurance Consultant (LIC) and a licensed Administrative Services Manager (ASM). He is frequently invited as a speaker and faculty member for health care purchaser, provider, managed care and insurance industry sponsored programs.
