HMA experts provide guide to California county behavioral health programs

A team of HMA behavioral health experts have developed a webinar and white paper addressing changes to California’s county behavioral health programs and provide a guide to help counties and stakeholders determine the best path forward.

Maximizing County Behavioral Health Programs in California; A Dollar and Sense Roadmap to Meeting State and Federal Requirements is a comprehensive look at changes in state and federal requirements to increase behavioral health delivery and guide policymakers in their decisions to expand internal infrastructure or partner with an outside entity.

A jumping off point for clients, the webinar and white paper begin the conversation for counties and can help officials chart a course to meet new behavioral health regulatory requirements under the Mental Health Parity and Addictions Equity Act (MHPAEA) and the Medicaid Managed Care Final Rule. The HMA team of experts, including Managing Principal Margaret Tatar, Principals Don Novo, Steve Soto, Patricia Tanquary and Senior Consultant Gelmy Ruiz, also provide a detailed understanding of program financing at the federal, state, and county levels.
