Medicaid Enrollment: December 2010 Data Snapshot

This snapshot of Medicaid enrollment as of December 2010 finds that between December 2009 and December 2010, an additional 2.8 million people enrolled in Medicaid programs nationally, pushing Medicaid enrollment up to 51.5 million. Enrollment growth over this period was 5.7 percent, down from a peak of 8.8 percent from the prior year.

Managing Medicaid Pharmacy Benefits: Current Issues and Options

Informed in part by the perspectives of a group of Medicaid pharmacy administrators convened in May 2011 to discuss Medicaid pharmacy issues, this report analyzes reimbursement, benefit management and cost sharing issues in Medicaid pharmacy programs, highlighting the potential of several strategies to reduce Medicaid pharmacy costs.
