Alicia Chatman, DHA, MHA, MBA
Alicia Chatman is an experienced and accomplished healthcare leader with expertise in hospital and ambulatory operations, as well as academic medical center management. Her expertise includes operations management and performance improvement, practice redesign, system integration including electronic medical records (EMR)/electronic health records (EHR) implementation, physician practice management and leadership and operational and supply chain readiness.
She has served in several leadership positions, including administrator and senior director, prior to joining HMA. Most recently, she was division administrator for the Division of Digestive Diseases at Emory University, overseeing both the healthcare and research operations. During her time with Emory, Alicia was responsible for strategic planning, fiscal planning, and staffing and human resources operations. Prior to Emory, she worked as a senior director with Health First (HF) on the Space Coast of Florida. Working with HF, Alicia was responsible for a multidisciplinary clinic with more than 30 doctors and advanced practice providers. She also served in a leadership role with Carolinas Healthcare System (now Atrium Healthcare) in Charlotte, N.C. and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, FL.
Alicia has a passion for improving healthcare for patients and mentoring future healthcare leaders. Outside of her consulting, Alicia works as an adjunct professor teaching and building curriculum for several universities across the country including Syracuse University and Columbia Southern University.
She earned a doctoral degree in healthcare administration with a focus in executive leadership from Capella University. Alicia completed a dual master’s program focusing on healthcare administration and business administration from South University in Savannah, GA. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology/nutrition from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, FL.
Alicia grew up on the Space Coast of Florida and loves spending time at the beach or watching rocket launches with her son and family.
