Luwanna LaPole is a dynamic, forward-thinking business executive with experience building organizational excellence and profitability through effective strategies, solid partnerships, and allocation of capital.

Prior to joining HMA, Luwanna was senior vice president of business development and operations at Rural Health Solutions. She provided strategy, business development and operations for the healthcare consulting company and improved financial viability via increased market penetration and strategic operational planning, which included access, care redesign, quality, and patient experience. She also worked on programs including telemedicine, app-based patient communications for care management, chronic care management (CCM), behavioral health integration (BHI), and surgical solutions.

Luwanna previously served in senior level positions within strategy, operations, physician services, and business development for healthcare systems, payors/national networks, and physician groups including Providence Healthcare System and Swedish Medical Group, UnitedHealthcare, Vizient and Mayo Clinic, Alliance Healthcare Services and North Memorial Healthcare. She provided strategic leadership for a national group purchasing organization (GPO), developing C-suite and provider engagement strategies, and increased medical device and commodity contract adoption and tier optimization. Luwanna led value based shared savings contracting and program planning for a national insurance network, a nationally recognized premier neuroscience institute with a $150 million contribution margin, a multi-site, complex oncology and radiology service line, a plethora of multispecialty clinics, revenue cycle management (RCM) and held pivotal market development positions within the medical device arena.

Luwanna has a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and liberal arts from the University of Minnesota.
