A knowledgeable actuary, skilled at breaking down complex results and processes into client-ready materials, Michelle Torbit has experience working with state Medicaid managed care, legislative reporting and improving quality of care.

Before joining Edrington Health Consulting, an HMA company, she served as senior actuarial analyst, working on state Medicaid managed care capitation rate development, including projects spanning traditional actuarial pricing analyses, and data monitoring and validation.

In addition, she has prepared state legislative reports focused on improving both access to healthcare services and quality of care for medical assistance beneficiaries. Michelle also served as analyst and task coordinator for a state published legislative report monitoring managed care organization (MCO) and hospital inpatient acute healthcare outcomes.

She earned bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and chemical engineering from Arizona State University as well as a Master of Science in actuarial services. She has additional experience as an actuarial intern and has served in business resource groups and committees.
