Modupe Falana has nearly two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, having worked in managed care organizations, public health services, and outpatient and inpatient facilities. She is an experienced quality improvement subject matter expert in accreditation and regulatory requirements and has extensive management experience leading teams and supporting QI regulatory/compliance activities.  

Prior to joining HMA, Modupe was director of health plan quality and accreditation at the Honest Medical Group. In this role, she collaborated closely with the chief medical officer to achieve the strategic objectives of the quality improvement department. She directed the health plan efforts pertaining to National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), healthcare effectiveness data and information sets (HEDIS), and engaged all departments around quality activities and performance improvement such as, Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems (CAHPS), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) STAR ratings and other quality measurement and accreditation. She ensured compliance with contractual quality requirements and reporting for government, Medicare and other lines of business and analyzed plan quality data to identify areas for improvement.  

Modupe’s previous roles include internal director of compliance and accreditation at Lumeris Solutions Company; national quality improvement director, compliance and accreditation at Magellan Complete Care; and national quality improvement compliance program manager at Molina Healthcare. She is also a contracted NCQA surveyor and conducts health plan accreditation surveys. 

Modupe earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Bloomfield College and a Master of Business Administration in public administration from Ohio Dominican University. She is a strong believer in the power of relationship building and collaboration in the workplace and is eager to work on projects that welcome collaboration and knowledge sharing. An enthusiastic tennis fan, she enjoys spending time with family, watching documentaries, cooking, and traveling.
