Xavior Robinson meets client needs at the intersection of behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment and prevention, public health, and financing. Xavior also works with life sciences clients on considerations regarding patient activation, community engagement, and advocacy.
Prior to joining HMA, Xavior served as a senior advisor of practice improvement for the National Council for Behavioral Health. In this capacity, he led public and behavioral health integration efforts across a diversity of national public health initiatives, including the National Council’s Opioid Epidemic Impact Initiative and the National Behavioral Health Network for Tobacco and Cancer Control. His efforts included building the capacity primary care practices to deliver substance use disorder treatment and prevention intervention such as Medication-Assisted Treatment. He also advised behavioral health practices on data integration and value-based contracting opportunities.
Prior to the National Council, he served as the senior manager of health systems integration for the National Alliance for State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD). He led initiatives to support the Affordable Care Act implementation efforts of state public health departments as it related to the prevention, care, and treatment of HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis. This included providing HIV treatment providers with technical assistance related to enhancing their Medicaid reimbursement.
Additionally, Xavior has worked on healthcare access issues for a variety of organizations, including Unity Health Care, one of the largest Federally Qualified Health Centers in the nation; El Pomar Foundation, a private charitable foundation based in Colorado; and as a regional representative in the Office of United States Senator Michael Bennet, where he partnered with community agencies to enhance healthcare access for returning veterans.
Xavior served in the U.S. Army between 2002 and 2008, completing tours of service in Fort Carson, Colorado, the Republic of Korea, and Iraq. Xavior earned a Master of Health Services Administration from the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services, and a graduate certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Colorado State University-Pueblo.
Outside of the office, Xavior is an avid Miami Dolphins fan who enjoys craft beer and independent films.
