A former Wall Street equity analyst, Greg Nersessian leverages his training and experience in the financial services industry to lead HMA engagements with investment firms.

He manages all regulatory and reimbursement due diligence projects on behalf of HMA’s private equity clients. In this capacity, he has supported investment clients in over 300 transactions including deals involving home and community-based providers, behavioral health organizations, managed care entities, addiction treatment providers, information technology services vendors, physician practices, care management entities, post-acute providers and others. Mr. Nersessian also leads HMA’s due diligence support for private equity portfolio companies and other corporate clients.

In addition to his work with investment clients, he brings to bear his experience as a sell-side managed care analyst to support the firm’s payer clients across a variety of dimensions including strategic planning and mergers and acquisitions support. He also brings his research background to bear in publishing the HMA Weekly Roundup, a weekly newsletter that tracks key developments and emerging trends in state-sponsored healthcare programs.

Mr. Nersessian joined HMA after serving as a senior analyst in the equity research department at Credit Suisse where he was responsible for coverage of the managed care sector. In this capacity, he provided fundamental financial analysis on publicly traded managed care companies on behalf of the firm’s institutional investor clients. He was considered a thought leader among his peers, particularly in his research and analysis of the Medicaid managed care sector. Prior to Credit Suisse, he worked at Lehman Brothers with primary coverage responsibilities for the Medicaid managed care and disease management industries.

Mr. Nersessian earned a master’s degree in business administration from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, and his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. He has been a CFA Charterholder since 2005.
