With a background in Medicaid managed care operations and project management and firsthand experience with state Medicaid agencies, Nicole McMahon offers a well-rounded perspective regarding managed care and state operational processes.
In her tenure with Health Management Associates (HMA), Nicole has held various roles in projects involving proposal management, operational support, and external evaluation. She has extensive experience supporting state agencies on Medicaid managed care compliance, readiness reviews, and program or policy implementations.
Prior to joining HMA, Nicole was a senior project manager for a nonprofit managed care health plan in Indiana. In that role, she managed new business development and performance, as well as corporate procurements and bids, and directed organization-wide implementation of new programs.
In her eight years at a managed care organization (MCO), she held various roles in departments ranging from member services to administration. She successfully led the MCO in winning two requests for proposals (RFPs) responses in 2014 and worked alongside each of the departments to implement the awarded contracts.
Nicole earned her Certified Health Care Manager certificate from Indiana University in 2012, the same year she received her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. She is a graduate of the Indiana University Kelley School of Business where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business management and human resources management.
Nicole enjoys spending her free time with her two daughters and husband, which means they are probably watching or attending basketball games. Nicole is the president of her daughter’s school parent teacher organization and has been engaged on the board for more than five years.
