However, payers need to restructure the reimbursement model to incentivize person-centered care and allow opioid treatment providers to remain fiscally viable without putting undue burden on patients. The change in regulations present a unique opportunity to advance value-based payment models in the SUD treatment system and expand access to treatment that meets patients where they are.
