Cammie Cantrell is the executive assistant to HMA president Jay Rosen. Additionally, she assists vice presidents Donna Checkett and Kelly Johnson with a variety of tasks. Cammie has a demonstrated history of working in the hospital and healthcare industry and is skilled in program evaluation and event management.
Cammie joined HMA from Michigan State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine where she acted as the program and business manager for four regional surgical consortiums which encompassed 45 residency programs. As an academic specialist, she led the implementation of a year-long surgical skills training course for new surgery residents and conducted site reviews of graduate medical education departments at member hospitals across Michigan to check compliance with American Optometric Association policies, procedures and accreditation standards. Cammie was the director of technology initiatives for the department and implemented numerous plans that increased efficiency and reduced costs.
Cammie authored a chapter for the Association for Hospital Medical Education’s “Guide to Medical Education in the Teaching Hospital.” She was part of a team whose research regarding OB/GYN boot camps was selected for presentation at two national conferences.
Cammie earned her master’s degree in higher, adult and lifelong education, as well as her bachelor’s degree, from Michigan State University. She also taught a student leadership development course at MSU. Go Green!
