A public health and healthcare expert, Jonathan Kromm has more than two decades of experience leading and evaluating public health implementations and delivering innovative products to healthcare customers in both the public and private sector.
He has a passion for expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare and has subject matter expertise in individual and group health insurance markets, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and healthcare delivery reform.
Before joining HMA, he served as vice president of products for CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. At CareFirst, he was responsible for product lifecycle management and product development across all lines of business, including the launch of CareFirst’s first Medicare Advantage products. He also developed and led a new enterprise customer experience and customer insights team for the organization.
As deputy executive director of the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange he led day-to-day operations, technology projects, policy development, and finance and procurement for the agency. He also provided leadership and support for key healthcare reform initiatives for the Maryland Governor’s Office of Health Care Reform.
Jon is also a seasoned researcher and policy analyst who has developed policy positions, legislation, and regulatory frameworks for organizations such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, American Cancer Society, and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
He earned a Doctorate in Philosophy, Health Policy, and Management and a Master of Health Sciences in Health Policy and Management, both from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
