Lisa Harrison is a board-certified physician associate and healthcare transformation leader with more than 20 years of experience spanning primary care, hospital medicine, clinical informatics, and digital health strategy. Drawing on deep frontline clinical experience as both a primary care provider in a federally qualified health center and an inpatient internal medicine hospitalist, she helps healthcare organizations improve care delivery, strengthen clinical operations, and advance innovation across diverse care settings.
Lisa has extensive expertise in clinical informatics, artificial intelligence in healthcare, interoperability, population health, practice transformation, and team-based care. Throughout her career, she has led initiatives that improved clinical workflows, enhanced provider engagement, supported regulatory compliance, and advanced the successful implementation and optimization of electronic health record systems across health networks. Her work has helped organizations drive more integrated, efficient, and patient-centered care in acute, ambulatory, primary, and specialty care environments.
Before joining Health Management Associates, Lisa served as a senior clinical informaticist for healthcare networks in Philadelphia and Michigan, where she led the advancement of clinical information systems and optimized provider and patient care workflows to support operational performance and quality improvement. She also directed multidisciplinary project teams across a wide range of service lines, including interventional and general cardiology, psychiatry/behavioral health, orthopedics, endocrinology, internal medicine, rheumatology, neurology, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, infectious disease, pulmonology, and primary care.
Lisa has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biological sciences from Towson University and a master’s degree in health science physician assistant studies from Drexel University. She holds postgraduate certificates from Duke Business of Healthcare Academy, Stanford University in genetics and genomics, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in AI in Healthcare. She is also fluent in Spanish.
