A driven healthcare professional, Sofia Ricciardi specializes in public and population health with a special interest in community-based and preventative care. Before joining Health Management Associates, Sofia was a population health specialist at the Boston Medical Center, coordinating targeted chronic disease management and preventative care outreach efforts for internal medicine patients. She analyzed health maintenance data to gauge program effectiveness and tracked patient progress for high-touch interventions. 

Sofia is skilled in process improvement, working internally and cross-collaboratively to optimize efficiency and service quality. As a public health officer with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, she developed up-to-date standard operating procedures and trainings, coordinating with local and state health departments and federal partners to improve both the systematization and cultural humility of public health responses. She also used process mapping techniques and mobilized action planning meetings to assess and execute short and long-term quarantine station benchmarks according to evolving policy. 

Sofia has a Master of Public Health in health management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and a bachelor’s degree in biochemical sciences and global health systems from the University of Maryland.
