Ginny Gleason has more than 20 years of experience guiding hospital systems, physician groups and post-acute providers through complex transformation initiatives. She is a nationally recognized expert in revenue cycle optimization, regulatory compliance and strategic operational turnaround across the healthcare continuum.

Before joining Health Management Associates (HMA), Ginny was a principal consultant with a national revenue cycle management advisory firm and worked as an independent consultant. She has led revenue cycle transformation initiatives across hospitals and health systems, generating $1 million to $4 million in annual revenue improvements through Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) redesign. She has directed consulting engagements delivering $1.5 to $18 million return-on-investment (ROI) through operational redesign, denial reduction and front and middle revenue cycle improvements.

Ginny leverages her data analytics skills to deliver high-impact, data-driven revenue cycle solutions.  She has experience with large data sets, having conducted analytics across 2.5 million patient encounters and identifying denial drivers, reimbursement trends and operational improvement opportunities. She has also built data-driven recommendations and reporting frameworks that enable performance gap identification, key performance indicator (KPI) alignment and executive-level decision support.

Leveraging her revenue-cycle expertise and analytical skills, Ginny’s work designing enterprise-wide compliance programs and payer strategies positions organizations to mitigate risk while maintaining regulatory alignment. Drawing on her experience practicing healthcare regulatory law and her early career as a bedside nurse, she has also developed Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) readiness and compliance strategies for hospitals and conducted monitoring and auditing compliance plan functions for clients’ billing compliance and medical necessity documentation.

Ginny earned her juris doctor and her master’s degree in healthcare policy from the University of North Dakota. She has a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Providence and an associate degree in nursing from the Institute of Health Technology. She is also a Certified Case Manager (CCM), a Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM).
