Berkley Powell is a detail-oriented and results driven professional with comprehensive experience in coordination and oversight of end-to-end clinical operations across diverse healthcare settings. She is passionate about mental and behavioral health, women’s health and reproductive health, technical innovation in healthcare, and quality measures to improve overall functions of healthcare. As a research associate, she will be conducting and providing research on healthcare programs, developments and support for clients. 

Prior to joining HMA, she was a clinical operations coordinator at a Dermatology practice. In this role, she managed multiple clinical projects and research by collaborating directly with the chief operating officer (COO), medical director, and clinical research department. She managed prior authorizations for procedures and drugs, including biologic medications, and evaluated all compliance-related matters by serving as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) officer.  

In her role at the practice, Berkley formulated and provided analytic reports from electronic health records (EHR) to drive improvement in metrics and led patient outreach to foster long-term relationships with patients. She implemented a process to improve the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) score by increasing the practice quality measures scores and executed new quality measure workflows into the practice. She also has clinical experience as a scribe, lead medical assistant, clinical research assistant and surgical assistant. 

Berkley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in neuroscience, psychology, and pre-health from the University of Colorado Boulder.  

She loves animals and enjoys skiing, hiking, camping, and water activities.
