Mikayla Curtis is a detail-oriented early-career professional experienced in project management, research, literature reviews, and the production of deliverables, such as reports, slide decks and blogs. She has strong communication skills, including public speaking, meeting facilitation, writing and editing. Her focus is on health policy, Medicare and digital health.

Before joining HMA, Mikayla was a project associate with the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Health Program in Washington, D.C. She served as the project manager for rural and digital health projects. Her responsibilities included coordinating stakeholder meetings, overseeing project deadlines and assisting with deliverable development.

Applying her public policy knowledge, Mikayla has considerable experience conducting literature reviews. As an intern with Acumen LLC, she wrote a comprehensive literature review on COVID-19 vaccination in nursing homes. With the Bipartisan Policy Center, she researched Medicare and regulatory policy issues to contribute to reports. Mikayla also worked as a teaching assistant at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy, leading weekly discussion sections.

Mikayla is a capable leader and collaborator. Working as a grassroots advocacy intern with the United Nations Foundation’s Shot@Life campaign, she created training materials for a network of over 2,500 advocates and led training sessions for over 40 advocates in preparation for Congressional meetings.

Mikayla earned her bachelor’s degree in public policy and political science from Duke University.
