Brian Green is a seasoned healthcare finance and reimbursement expert with more than 20 years of experience supporting health systems, providers, and facilities ranging from rural hospitals to large academic medical centers. Underpinned by a deep understanding of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, Brian’s expertise spans governmental reimbursement, financial modeling, revenue cycle optimization and strategic planning. He leverages his skills to help healthcare entities navigate complex healthcare regulatory landscapes and drive operational efficiency and compliance.
Before joining Health Management Associates, Brian was a director at another national consulting firm, where he provided comprehensive reimbursement services to hospital clients and contributed to client growth across multiple service lines, including the 340B Drug Pricing Program (340B), Disproportionate Share Hospital/Uncompensated Care (DSH/UCC), medical education, Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, wage index, supplemental payments and managed care. Brian is known as a subject matter expert on governmental reimbursement issues and frequently develops prompt financial models to assist clients in evaluating and responding to policy shifts.
In addition to his ability to translate regulatory changes into actionable financial strategies, Brian has demonstrated skill leading financial turnarounds. He has experience in service line analysis, month end close, balance sheet reserve models, compliance with 501(r) and community health needs assessment(s) (CHNA). His strategic insights have helped hospitals adapt to evolving federal guidelines while maintaining financial stability.
Brian earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Auburn University, and he is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).
