Katie Stevenson has over a decade of experience working with multiple state departments with a focus on policy compliance, process efficiency, and operations management.

Before joining Health Management Associates, Katie was a health services administrator for the Ohio Department of Medicaid. She conducted reviews and revisions of Medicaid community behavioral health resources, including facilitating and considering input from external stakeholders. She also led a range of strategic communication responsibilities, including publishing and presenting program, policy, coverage and reimbursement information to providers, managed care plans, other states and federal agencies.

Prior to joining the Ohio Department of Medicaid, Katie gained subject matter expertise in Medicaid policy at the Ohio Department of Mental Health where she was responsible for amending Ohio Administrative Code rules that define the Medicaid covered community mental health services and reimbursement policies. She also prepared proposals for delivering new behavioral health services to the Ohio Medicaid population. This included data analysis of bundling services to reduce cost and improve service delivery and patient outcomes.

In addition to her Medicaid expertise, Katie is well versed in program evaluation and new services development. With the Ohio Department of Health, Katie managed the Cribs for Kids program, creating and maintaining a referral network, reporting procedures and designing a data collection process for program evaluation.

Katie earned her Master of Public Administration in public policy and management and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from The Ohio State University.
