Tia Cintron is a seasoned executive with over 35 years of experience in housing and healthcare. She has led impactful programs to build healthy communities and provided strategic consulting to a wide range of stakeholders, including advocates, foundations, and government entities.

Tia has an extensive background in early-stage and startup organizations, with core strengths in strategy and planning, business development, partnership and stakeholder convening, operations, and management. She is passionate about advocating for equitable access to housing and healthcare services and has a proven track record of driving impactful change.

As the founding chief executive officer of the Connecticut Insurance Exchange Marketplace, Tia led the design and implementation of a new quasi-public state agency, securing over $120 million to support operational development. She played a pivotal role in a startup cooperative health plan as chief operating officer and senior advisor for Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program developments in New York and Massachusetts. She was also a partner in a community development project that included the design and construction of 110 homes.

Tia considers herself a lifelong learner and is currently working towards a master’s degree in clinical social work from Boston University. She also has a master’s in healthcare administration from San Jose State University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Portland State University.

In her spare time, Tia loves to garden, hike, and kayak with her husband, Bob, and spend time with her two adult children, John and Kate, as well as with Olive, a very spoiled golden retriever.
