Alyse Schonfeld is a dedicated early career professional passionate about bringing about meaningful social change. Her areas of interest include supporting vulnerable youth within the child welfare system, sexual and domestic violence, and gender equality. She has proficiency in Spanish, and she is skilled in crisis intervention, case management, administrative skills, communication, adapting and learning.

Before joining the Health Management Associates, Alyse was a direct care worker for Project Destiny, providing support for Commercial Sex Exploitation of Children (CSEC) foster youth ages 14-19 in a six-person group home. She prepared meals, provided transportation to appointments, reported interactions and behaviors, and communicated with case workers. Alyse was also a behavioral aid for at-risk foster youth with CBI Rehabilitation Services, Inc., similarly working in a six-person group home providing logistical support and reporting.

Previously, Alyse was a communications intern at the Michigan Health and Hospital Association, specializing in healthcare issues and mental health. She was responsible for social media outreach, writing reports and assisting with marketing. She also has an entrepreneurial background working closely with the founder at Penzils, a startup connecting students to local tutors, as a marketing and design ops intern.

Alyse earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in entrepreneurship from the University of California­ Los Angeles.
