Erin Mellas has over 28 years of leadership experience in healthcare operations and is skilled in payment policy, provider services, and data analysis.  

Prior to joining HMA, Erin spent over a decade working as a subject matter expert and operational consultant and served in multiple leadership roles at national and regional health plans. She also served in multiple interim director of operations and claims roles. 

Erin focused on provider and payment policies and sales and account management aimed at supporting teams to drive strategic sales and revenue goals. She helped organizations build and redesign teams to allow for smooth transitions and operational growth. 

Erin served as an expert witness for depositions and hearings pertaining to claims, processing rules, and policy adherence. She has experience orchestrating multiple successful regulatory audits and developing internal auditing programs to ensure adherence to and reporting of regulatory policy. She is experienced in all lines of business, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial, and third-party administrator insurance.  

Erin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in healthcare management from Western Governors University. She is Six Sigma certified and holds a certification in the Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation from the Utah Insurance Department.
