A former Wall Street equity analyst, Greg Nersessian leverages his training and experience in the financial services industry to lead HMA engagements with investment firms. He monitors federal and state activities relevant to publicly funded health care programs for investors in publicly traded securities. He also brings his research background to bear in publishing the HMA Weekly Roundup, a weekly newsletter that tracks key developments and emerging trends in state-sponsored health care programs.
Greg communicates regularly with health care investors in public and private companies. He also manages all due diligence projects for HMA private equity clients. In this capacity, Greg recently led the HMA teams supporting the Clearview Capital acquisition of Pyramid Healthcare and the Beeken Petty acquisition of Genoa Healthcare. Greg also collaborates with the payer community across a variety of dimensions including coordinating due diligence reviews on behalf of a number of health plan acquisitions.
Greg joined HMA after serving as a senior analyst in the equity research department at Credit Suisse where he focused on the Medicaid managed care sector. He also worked at Lehman Brothers with primary coverage responsibilities for the Medicaid managed care and disease management industries. A thought leader in this area, Greg was voted a “Top Up and Comer” in the 2005 Institutional Investor equity research poll.
Greg earned his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. Greg has been a CFA Charterholder since 2005.
