Before joining Health Management Associates, J.T. worked for Johnson and Johnson (J&J) for over 10 years, ultimately earning the position of J&J MedTech Strategic Customer Group’s chief of staff. He also initiated multiple process improvements, including a supply chain demand signal system that decreased backorder issues and an augmented in-house CRM platform. As a sales consultant, he maintained year-over-year growth, recruited industry experts, and ushered in multiple new product pricing proposals, clinical evaluations, and contract negotiations through C-Suite purchasing value analysis.

J.T. worked as an account manager with American Hearing Aid and a trading operations manager in prime services with Barclays Capital. Prior to this, J.T. served in the Unites States Army in the Second Infantry Division as a mechanized platoon leader. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service while leading in over 275 combat missions in the Sunni Triangle during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following his time in war, he served as a company executive officer in the Second Training Brigade, where he was second in command and responsible for training, logistics, safety, and administration for 220 basic trainees as well as $1.5 million in government property and over $50,000 in contracts and disbursements. J.T received an honorable discharge as a captain and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, and Parachutist Badge.

J.T. earned a Master of Business Administration with concentrations in marketing and operations management from Villanova University and a Bachelor of Science in systems engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
