Mark Almanza, MBA
A skilled and experienced healthcare executive, Mark Almanza has spent his career building business partnerships, expanding provider networks and market share, and negotiating for clients across the entirety of the healthcare industry.
For more than 20 years, Mark has created strong and sustainable gains in performance, productivity, and profitability as well as developed and improved strategic marketing plans to expand Medi-Cal and Medicaid in six states.
Before joining HMA, Mark served as a director of business development and contracts where he was instrumental in creating a new independent practice association (IPA) as well as partnering with a Federally Qualified Health Center to enable immediate growth for the IPA. His work also included network development, contract negotiation, membership growth, and marketing responsibility for various IPAs in the region.
Prior to that, Mark served as senior regional director of business development where, in addition to excelling in network development, his negotiations saved revenues and increased membership while increasing efficiency to exceed profit expectations. He also excelled in network development, membership growth and marketing for medical groups in California.
Seasoned in health plan management and networks, Mark’s vast experience also includes marketing expertise, contract negotiation and management, and quantitative leadership skills.
Mark earned a Master of Business Administration from St. Mary’s College and a bachelor’s degree from the University of the Pacific.
