HMA Medicare Experts in Demand

HMA Principal Mary Hsieh offered her expertise and insights during a panel discussion at the America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) Conference. The panel, Blockbuster Medicare Innovations, focused on sweeping policy changes announced by the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services.

As part of the panel, Mary discussed the need to design benefits to meet local needs of populations and move away from a one-size-fits-all approach. She also discussed the next generation of supplemental benefit innovations aimed at addressing social determinates of health to create meaningful outcomes, cost savings and member experience.

Jon Blum, HMA managing principal, presented a keynote address to more than 500 attendees at the recent HMA conference Trends in Publicly Sponsored Healthcare, The Next Wave of Medicaid Growth and Opportunity: How Payers, Providers, and States are Positioning Themselves for Success.

His presentation, The Growing Role of Medicare Advantage and the Future of Medicare, focused on the increase in Medicare Advantage serving about one-third of all Medicare beneficiaries and what the increase and consolidation of the market share for health plans serving beneficiaries means. He also addressed opportunities in the market for serving dual-eligible users.
